THE WATER
Planning your next cruising or racing adventure?
The upcoming Spirit Yachts private view event is the perfect opportunity to meet the team, look at existing designs, see the build process up close and step onboard finished Spirit yachts in the water.
Taking place on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th June, the event will allow visitors to make the most of their time at Spirit Yachts in a Covid-secure environment. In the interests of adhering to Covid-safe practices and keeping separation between visits, appointments are limited to interested customers only.
Currently in the Spirit yard in Suffolk, on the east coast of the UK, is a Spirit 44CR(e), which is in the fit out stage of construction. Fully electric, with solar panels integrated into her deck, this Cruiser-Racer (CR) yacht is designed for sailing and entertaining in comfort with a rig, deck layout and performance capabilities to compete in regattas if desired.
Also in the interior fit out stage is a Spirit 72DH (Deckhouse) designed for cruising and racing in the Mediterranean. The 72DH is the first Spirit deckhouse without a ‘mid-level’ seating and navigation area linking the cockpit and the main interior space. Instead, the companionway steps lead straight down into the open plan galley offering a new perspective on a Spirit interior layout.
A second Spirit 72DH is in the early stages of construction, with Sipo Mahogany ringframes set up in a strongback structure ready for the hull build to begin.
In the final stages of construction in the yard is the Spirit 30 day sailor. A stunning example of modern classic design and craftsmanship, this elegant yacht is ideal for coastal cruising or racing with family and friends, as well as single or short-handed sailing.
Outside Spirit Yachts’ waterside premises, the new Spirit 65DH is in the marina and in the final stages of commissioning. Officially launching later this year, the yacht is available to view exclusively during the private event. Designed as a beautiful yet practical cruising yacht that leaves minimal impact on the environment, the Spirit 65DH has eco features throughout, including a hybrid system comprising twin variable pitch saildrives, which regenerate the batteries using propulsion from the propellor whilst the yacht is under sail.
Also in the water, is pre-owned Spirit 76 Nazgul of Fordell, which recently underwent a refit and is now for sale. As well as a full service and repairs to general wear and tear, the refit brief from the owner centred around silent nights and making the yacht more energy efficient.
