CRUISER RACER
SPIRIT
50CR
Summer
launch
In build at the Spirit Yachts yard in Ipswich, she is in the final stages of construction.
The Spirit 50CR will sleep six guests across a forward ensuite double cabin, a double aft cabin and a navigator’s berth. There is the option to lower the dining table to align with the sofa to provide a berth for a sixth guest. A separate bathroom on the port side serves the aft guest cabins. In the saloon, a u-shaped sofa on the port side will curve around a dining table, with additional seating and the open plan galley to starboard.
Spirit Yachts managing director Nigel Stuart commented, “After the launch of the popular 47CR, we have seen increased interest in our cruiser-racer yachts. Whilst all Spirit Yachts are customised, we always stay true to our core values of beauty and performance. The 50CR delivers on looks and sailing speed, but with added volume down below for entertaining family and friends.”
With the coachroof fitted, the build team is finishing the last of the hatch frames and laying the boards for the deck organisers. Once the boards for the organisers are down, Spirit’s in-house electricians will run in the wiring for the lighting.
The deck panels are currently being cut and shaped before being painted. In the cockpit, the coaming is complete and the mahogany cladding is being fitted before teak is laid on the sole boards and seating.
Down below, the timber is being finished in the forward head, the forward cabin woodwork is finished and the cupboards are complete.
The aft cabins and bathroom are underway and the bulkheads and the cupboards next to be fitted. Spirit’s electricians will be working on the wiring and systems once the two heads are complete.
